La délégation espagnole, soutenue par les délégations française et polonaise, a souhaité attirer l'attention du Conseil et de la Commission sur la situation du marché des céréales dans les pays du sud de l'Europe, constatant l'état très négatif des stocks suite aux conditions climatiques de l'été dernier (14798/03) et a sollicité une mise sur le marché des stocks de seigle allemand (environ 4 millions de tonnes) à un prix proche du prix à l'intervention ainsi qu'une prise en charge possible des coûts de transport vers les pays du sud de l'Europe.
The Spanish delegation, supported by the French and Polish delegations, wished to draw the attention of the Council and the Commission to the cereals market situation in the countries of southern Europe, pointing to the very negative stock situation resulting from the climate conditions of last summer(14798/03). It requested that German rye stocks (approximately 4 million tonnes) be put on the market at a price close to the intervention price, with the possibility of funding for the cost of transport to the southern European countries.
