Je partage l'avis de M. Cashman quand il dit que le Parlement européen ne saurait accepter que les secrétaires généraux discutent de ces questions au nom des politiques, parce que la transparence, aspect fondamental de la démocratie, est une question éminemment politique.
I also share the view of Mr Cashman that Parliament cannot approve the secretaries-general carrying on discussions of these matters in the name of the politicians, since transparency is, as a basic question of democracy, a highly political matter.
