- Monsieur le Président, mes chers collègues, faisant suite au rapport publié l'an dernier sur la Turquie par nos collègues MacMillan Scott et Swoboda, ainsi qu'à la résolution de notre Parlement du 6 octobre dernier qui concluait à l'importance d'approfondir la stratégie européenne pour ce pays, notre Assemblée devrait pouvoir adopter demain deux propositions de règlement du Parlement et du Conseil relatives à la mise en œuvre d'actions visant respectivement : la première, au développement économique et social de la Turquie, la seconde, à l'approfondissement de l'Union douanière entre la Communauté européenne et la Turquie.
– (FR) Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, my reports follow on from the report published last year on Turkey by Mr McMillan-Scott and Mr Swoboda and from the resolution of this House of 6 October which concluded on the importance of expanding the European strategy for Turkey. This House should therefore be able tomorrow to adopt these two proposals for European Parliament and Council regulations on the implementation of measures, on one hand, to promote economic and social development in Turkey and, on the other, to intensify the EC-Turkey Customs Union.
