la terre, en vue de contribuer à l'optim ...[+++]alisation de l'utilisation des données satellitaires ainsi qu'à la mise en oeuvre des politiques communautaires ; - a convenu qu'il faudrait examiner, conformément aux règles et procédures habituelles, la question du soutien de la Communauté aux activités de recherche et développement technologique (RDT) dans le domaine spatial, y compris, le cas échéant, la mise au point d'instruments lorsqu'interviendra la décision sur le quatrième programme-cadre des actions communautaires de RDT et ses programmes spécifiques ; il a toutefois noté que la Commission n'a pas l'intention de proposer un programme de recherche communautaire spécifique dans le domaine spatial qui s'inscrirait dans le quatrième programme-cadre ; - a invité la Commission à poursuivre ses efforts, dans la limite de ses compétences et dans les enceintes appropriées, afin de créer les conditions favorables à l'extension des marchés des applications spatiales et à la compétitivité des industries spatiales européennes ; - a convenu qu'il faudrait améliorer la synergie et la complémentarité entre les programmes communautaires de RDT et les activités de l'ASE et, dans le respect des dispositions du traité, qu'il conviendrait de poursuivre le développement des activités des Etats membres et d'autres organisations internationales, tout en évitant la duplication des efforts et en respectant pleinement les règles et procédures de fonctionnement de ...THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY AND SPACE - COUNCIL CONCLUSIONS The Council: - considered that the communication of the C

ation of t ...[+++]he use of satellite data as well as to the implementation of Community policies; - agreed that the question of Community support for space- related RTD activities, including, if appropriate, development of instruments, should be considered when deciding on the Community RTD Fourth Framework Programme and its specific programmes, according to the normal rules and procedures; noted, however, that the Commission does not intend to propose a specific Community space research programme within the fourth Framework Programme; - invited the Commission to continue its efforts, within its sphere of competence and in the appropriate fora, in order to establish favourable conditions for the development of space application markets and for competitive European space industries. - agreed that synergy and complementarity between the Community RTD programmes and the activities of ESA and, while respecting the provisions of the Treaty, activities of the Member States and other international organisations should be further developed, whilst avoiding any duplication of efforts and whilst fully respecting the operating rules and procedures of both the Community and ESA; - noted the Commission's intention to establish an ad hoc group on Space with representatives of all the Member States.
