Cools: Honourable senators, pursuant to rules 57(1), (2) and 58(2), I give notice that on Wednesday next I will call the attention of the Senate to the child abuse and neglect (CAN) death of six-month old Sara Podniewicz, known as Sara Olsen, at the hands of her parents, Lisa Olsen and Michael Podniewicz, on April 24, 1994 in Toronto, Ontario; and to her autopsy; and to her parents' conviction and sentence for second degree murder; and to their treatment of their other children; and to the actions of the Catholic Children's Aid Society, the Canadian Mothercraft Society and Corrections Canada in this case.
