Néanmoins, je ne pense pas que nous devions forcément croire que cette crise anéantira les résultats des événements radicaux qui se sont produits lors de l’hiver 2005-2006, la révolution orange débouchant sur la démocratisation fondamentale du pays. Ainsi, l’Ukraine est aujourd’hui un pays bien différent de ce qu’elle était auparavant, et ce au terme d’un processus dans lequel l’Union européenne a joué un rôle majeur et utile.
I do not think, though, that we should be persuaded to think that this crisis could cancel out the results of the drastic events of the winter of 2005 and 2006, when the Orange Revolution brought about fundamental democratisation of Ukraine, so that it is today a considerably different country from what it was before that, and the European Union has played a major, helpful role in this.
