While either party may request a meeting of the Joint Committee to consider the Agreement's effects on labour, employment and working conditions, there is no explicit statement that "the opportunities created by the Agreement are not intended to undermine labour standards" nor is the Joint Committee required to consider "the social effects of the Agreement as it is implemented and [develop] appropriate responses to concerns found to be legitimate".

La Delegation autrichienne a manifeste son interet a cooperer dans plusieurs domaines couverts par certains programmes communautaires, comme par exemple ESPRIT, RACE, BRITE, EURAM, MATERIAUX, FAST, BIOTECHNOLOGIE, ENVIRONNEMENT, RECHERCHE MEDICALE et ENERGIES ALTERNATIVES.
During the meeting, the Joint Committee reviewed the policies and priorities of the Parties with regard to science and technology and the status of existing cooperation in RD The Austrian delegation expressed a definite interest in cooperation in several fields covered by certain Community programmes such as ESPRIT, RACE, BRITE, EURAM, MATERIALS, FAST, BIOTECHNOLOGY, ENVIRONMENT, MEDICAL RESEARCH and Alternative Energy Sources.

Au cours de cette reunion le comite mixte a passe en revue les orientations et priorites des Parties en matiere de science et tecnologie et la cooperation deja existante en matiere de R D (fusion thermonucleaire controlee, y compris le projet JET, bois en tant que matiere premiere renouvelable, climatologie, telecommunications, informatique, recherche medicale, actions COST etc.).

La Delegation norvegienne a manifeste son interet a coopererdans plusieurs domaines couverts par certains programmes communautaires, comme par exemple ESPRIT, RACE, BRITE, MATERIAUX, BIOTECHNOLOGIE, ENVIRONNEMENT et RECHERCHE MEDICALE.
