A general assessment of the sources of the TEN-T investments during the period in question shows that the national public funding contributed about 78%, by far the largest part of the investments in the TEN-T network in the 2002 – 2003 period: together with loans from EIB, these two sources contributed more than 90% of the investment on the TEN-T network.

L’application de la méthode ouverte de coordination (MOC) au RTE-T pourrait contribuer à établir un cadre de travail commun à la Commission, à l’Agence exécutive du RTE-T et aux États membres, et fournir une base de connaissances communes sur le réseau RTE-T.

Based on an analysis of the transport infrastructure plans of Member States, the Commission estimates that investment needs in transport amount to EUR 500 000 million over the entirety of the TEN-T network for the period 2014-2020, of which an estimated EUR 250 000 million will need to be invested in the core network of the TEN-T.
