Comme on peut le constater, honorables sénateurs, il est clair qu'il se dégage un consensus tant chez les gens de l'industrie navale, les premiers ministres provinciaux, les syndicats, les députés de l'opposition ainsi que chez les militants libéraux pour dire que cette industrie traverse une crise importante et qu'elle ne peut plus concurrencer ses compétiteurs étrangers malgré l'excellente réputation mondiale dont nous disposons dans la construction de navires à la fine pointe de la technologie.
As we can see, honourable senators, it is clear there is a consensus among the people from the shipbuilding industry, the provincial premiers, the unions, the opposition members and Liberal Party delegates that this industry is going through a major crisis and can no longer compete with its foreign competitors, despite our excellent worldwide reputation in shipbuilding and in high tech.
