Compte tenu des lois qui ont été adoptées en la matière, notamment en Californie, en Floride et dans l'État de Washington, où les gouvernements ont cherché à encourager les deux parents à assumer leur rôle parental après le divorce, je me demande si ma collègue de Calgary-Nord ne voudrait pas nous dire ce que, selon elle, notre gouvernement pourrait faire pour favoriser ce type de loi et répandre cette mentalité au Canada.
In light of some of the legislation that has been passed, particularly in California, Florida and Washington state, among others, which reflects those governments' policies of encouraging parenting by both parents after divorce, I wonder if my colleague could give us her views on what steps she might feel the government could take to encourage and develop that type of legislation and that thinking in Canada.
