La Journée maritime européenne a été établie dans le cadre de la politique maritime intégrée de l'UE de 2007, laquelle a pour objectif de mettre en évidence les interconnexions entre les différentes politiques en rapport avec les mers et les océans et de promouvoir la croissance durable des secteurs et régions maritimes.

Une des premières rencontres organisées dans ce contexte est cette conférence d’une durée de deux jours intitulée «La politique maritime européenne et les régions», qui sera accueillie par le gouvernement régional des Açores du 25 au 27 juin.
One of the first of these events is this two day conference entitled “European Maritime Policy and the Regions” which will be hosted by the Regional Government of the Azores from 25-27 June.
