Emphasises that the increased number of WTO member states in the region, where all but two states are now members, positively contributes to the establishment of a predictable and stable trade regime and recommends that relevant BSEC member countries step up their efforts to acquire membership of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and that all Black Sea countries continue the adjustment of national legislation to WTO rules and multilateral trade principles, including EU trade-related acquis; invites them to step up the gradual elimination of trade barriers with the aim of further trade liberalisation, including simplification of customs procedures and tax regimes; considers that enhanced cooperation at parliamentary level, both bilaterally and with the Parliamentary Assembly of the BSEC, PABSEC and the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO, would further benefit the process; considers, in this context, that the European Union should become a full member of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
