T. considérant que, en vue de trouver une solution diplomatique à la question du programme nucléaire iranien, l'Union européenne, les États-Unis, la Chine et la Russie avaient proposé un accord dans le cadre de l'AIEA prévoyant d'expédier l'uranium faiblement enrichi de l'Iran vers la Russie et la France pour qu'il y soit transformé en barres de combustible pour le réacteur de recherche médicale de Téhéran; considérant que, l'Iran ayant rejeté cette proposition, le Conseil de sécurité examine actuellement les possibilités d'imposer des sanctions renforcées contre l'Iran,
T. whereas, in the interests of finding a diplomatic solution to the issue of Iran's nuclear programme, the EU, the United States, China and Russia had proposed that an agreement be reached, under the auspices of the IAEA, to ship Iran's existing low-enriched uranium to Russia and France for processing into fuel rods to keep the Tehran Medical Research reactor running, and noting that, since Iran rejected this proposal, debates have been ongoing in the Security Council on more stringent sanctions against Iran,
