I. L'ACTION DE JANVIER 1987 Eu égard à la situation climatique
exceptionnellement rude qui sévissait sur une grande partie de la Communauté l'hiver 86/87, la Commission a décidé le 14 janvier 1987 deux types d'action : accorder 2,5 millions d'Ecus à des organisations charitables disposant d'un réseau étendu dans toute la Communauté (Croix- Rouge et Euro-Caritas). Ce montant était destiné à l'achat de combustible et de couvertures en faveur des personnes âgées et sans abri; élargir, bien que temporairement, les régimes d'aide alimentaire en mettant gratuitement à la disposition diverses denrées alimentaires, et notamment celles en stock

JANUARY 1987 On 14 January the Commission, in view of the exceptionally harsh weather in many parts of the Community, decided to take two types of action: 1. to grant 2.5 million ECU to charitable organizations with extensive networks operating throughout the Community (the Red Cross and Euro-Caritas. This money was earmarked to help with the purchase of fuel and blankets to assist the elderly and the homeless; 2. to enlarge (but on a temporary basis) the existing welfare food food schemes by making available various foodstuffs free of charge, especially those in intervention stores.
