[Translation] Mr. Gaston Leroux (Richmond-Wolfe): Mr. Speaker, as the member for Richmond-Wolfe and a member of the Official Opposition, I am pleased to take part in this debate and to explain our position on the motion of our colleague from Edmonton Southwest, to explain this position in relation to the new political environment both in Quebec and in Canada.

[Translation] Mr. Gaston Leroux (Richmond-Wolfe): Mr. Speaker, I welcome the opportunity to take part in this debate as the member for Richmond-Wolfe and official critic for regional development.

M. Gaston Leroux (Richmond-Wolfe): Monsieur le Président, à titre de député de Richmond-Wolfe et au nom de mes collègues du Bloc québécois et de toutes les citoyennes et citoyens que nous représentons à la Chambre des communes, je prends la parole sur l'avis que j'ai donné en cette Chambre, m'opposant, au nom de l'opposition officielle, au crédit de 26 952 000 $ accordé sous la rubrique Parlement-Sénat.
Mr. Gaston Leroux (Richmond-Wolfe): Mr. Speaker, as the member for Richmond-Wolfe and on behalf of my colleagues from the Bloc Quebecois and of all the people we represent in the House of Commons, I will speak to the notice I gave to this House objecting, on behalf of the Official Opposition, to the vote in the amount of $26,952,000 under the heading Parliament-The Senate.

J'espère que les enfants de mes enfants n'auront pas à se préoccuper d'autant de charges nucléaires que le député et le reste d'entre nous (2130) [Français] M. Gaston Leroux (Richmond-Wolfe): Madame la Présidente, il me fait plaisir de prendre la parole à titre de député de Richmond-Wolfe dans ce débat sur les missiles de croisière et de saluer très chaleureusement l'ensemble des citoyennes et citoyens du comté de Richmond-Wolfe qui, le 25 octobre dernier, m'ont fait confiance et m'ont donné un mandat clair.
I hope that my children's children will have fewer nuclear warheads to worry about than that which the hon. member and the rest of us have to worry about now (2130) [Translation] Mr. Gaston Leroux (Richmond-Wolfe): I am pleased to participate as the member for Richmond-Wolfe in this debate on cruise missiles and I would like to send warm greetings to all the voters in my constituency of Richmond-Wolfe who placed their trust in me last October 25 and gave me a clear mandate.
