Definition: A disorder characterized by deliberate weight loss, induced and sustained by the patient. The disorder is associated with a specific psychopathology whereby a dread of fatness and flabbiness of body contour persists as an intrusive overvalued idea, and the patients impose a low weight threshold on themselves. There is usually undernutrition of varying severity with secondary endocrine and metabolic changes and disturbances of bodily function. The symptoms include restricted dietary choice, excessive exercise, induced vomiting and purgation, and use of appetite suppressants and diuretics.

Dans ce contexte, je vote en faveur de ce rapport, car je pense qu’il constitue une étape positive vers un environnement législatif plus clair et plus simple pour les entreprises européennes qui importent des produits textiles et des chaussures en provenance de pays tiers pour lesquels les restrictions quantitatives sont maintenues parce qu’ils ne sont pas membres de l’OMC.
In view of this, I am voting in favour of this report, as I believe that it marks a positive step in defining a clearer and simpler legislative environment for European businesses which import textile and footwear products originating in third countries for which there continue to be quantitative restrictions because they are not WTO members.
