Hon. Yonah Martin (Deputy Leader of the Government): Honourable senators, I rise today also to welcome Greg Peters, our new Usher of the Black Rod, and would like at the same time to thank Blair Armitage, who served us as Acting Usher of the Black Rod this year.

Enfin, je tiens à souhaiter la bienvenue et à transmettre toutes nos félicitations à notre nouvel huissier du bâton noir, Greg Peters, mais non sans remercier d'abord Blair Armitage des excellents services qu'il nous a rendus au cours des derniers mois à titre d'huissier du bâton noir par intérim.
Finally, I want to congratulate and welcome our new Usher of the Black Rod, Greg Peters, and to thank Blair Armitage for his very capable service these past months as Acting Usher of the Black Rod.

L’Europe, c’est aussi des valeurs, la musique, la littérature, la culture et notre mode de vie européen.
I should like once again to thank the Austrian Presidency, because it is true that Europe is about an internal market; it is true that Europe is also about a political project; but the Austrian Presidency reminds all of us that Europe is not only about the market, or about regulations: Europe is also about values, music, literature, culture and our European way of life.
