- (PT) Monsieur le Président, ce débat sur l’avenir de la politique commune de la pêche est le point d’orgue d’un important travail du rapporteur, Mme Rosa Miguélez Ramos, et de la commission de la pêche. Ce travail a impliqué notamment une visite au Portugal et un débat à Lisbonne avec les représentants des différents intervenants de ce secteur économique stratégique pour l’Union européenne, auquel j’ai eu l’occasion de participer.
– (PT) Mr President, this debate on the future of the common fisheries policy is the culmination of a major undertaking by the rapporteur, Mrs Miguélez Ramos, and by the Committee on Fisheries, which includes a visit to Portugal and a debate in Lisbon, in which I also had the opportunity to participate, with representatives of the various parties involved in this sector of strategic economic importance to the European Union.
