Aujourd'hui, nous nous sommes appuyés sur les excellents travaux préparatoires de la présidence danoise, pour lesquels je tiens à remercier chaleureusement la Première ministre, Mme Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
Today we built on the excellent groundwork done by the Danish Presidency, for which I should like to warmly thank Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

– (FR) Mr President, Mr Barroso, Madam High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Commissioner for Development, honourable Members of the European Parliament, honourable Members of Mali, I should like to begin by congratulating you, Mr Buzek, on your appointment as President of the European Parliament but, above all, I should like sincerely to thank the chairs of the political groups and all the MEPs for having done me the honour of inviting me here today, firstly, to share with you my thoughts concerning some major challenges that my country and the whole of Africa face, and, secondly, and above all, to highlight the day-to-day efforts that my country is making to find appropriate solutions.

La chose est en route, en tout cas aujourd’hui, et je tiens vraiment à les remercier chaleureusement parce que leur disponibilité – mais aussi celle de tous mes collègues – a été indispensable à la réussite, à la plus grande crédibilité que nous avons aujourd’hui dans ce domaine.
The task is under way, today at least, and I would like warmly to thank them, since their receptiveness, and that of all my fellow Members, has been essential to this success and to the increased credibility that we have, today, in this area.
