– (ES) Je me suis prononcé en faveur de ce rapport sur la proposition de règlement du Parlement européen et du Conseil relatif à l’initiative citoyenne. Il est vrai que celui-ci ne reflète que vaguement la position de mon groupe, dans la mesure où il fait fi de questions importantes comme la possibilité de proposer, au moyen d’une telle initiative, une modification des traités ou celle d’étendre la période de collecte des signatures de 12 mois à 18 mois.
– (ES) I voted in favour of this report on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on the citizens’ initiative because, although it only vaguely satisfies my group’s position, because it ignores important issues such as the idea of allowing initiatives proposing changes to the Treaties or that of extending the period for collecting signatures from the proposed 12 months to 18 months, I believe nonetheless that the report is an considerable yet insufficient improvement on the text put forward by the Commission.
