The financial situation of holding companies in an intermediate position within an insurance group would continue to be taken into account when calculating the adjusted solvency of insurance undertakings belonging to the group, but with one difference: in addition to the holding companies' capital, the remainder of their own funds, subordinated loans, cumulative preference shares and certain other perpetual securities would from now on be included in the calculation.
