Can the leader give us an assurance, although we all understand that it will be important not to delay the nomination of the new commissioner unduly, that the search will be thorough, wide ranging, and will include both — and this is important — internal and external candidates so that, at the end of the process, Canadians will feel confident that the best possible candidate has been found?
