Mesdames, Messieurs et membres du comité, Femmes autochtones du Québec apprécie grandement cette occasion qui lui est donnée de présenter, encore une foi, au gouvernement, la discrimination historique dont sont victimes les femmes autochtones, et surtout nos enfants, une injustice qui, malheureusement, n'a pas été corrigée, en 1985, avec le projet de loi C-31.
Ladies and gentlemen, committee members, Quebec Native Women is very pleased to have this opportunity to once again outline to the government the historic discrimination that Aboriginal women, and especially our children, have been victims of, an injustice that, unfortunately, was not corrected in 1985, with Bill C-31.

Nous sommes préoccupés par le fait que ce projet de loi nous soit présenté sans que le décret concernant Québec-Téléphone et BC Tel n'ait été promulgué. Madame la Présidente, je vous demanderais de rappeler au gouvernement qu'il serait grandement apprécié que ce décret soit promulgué avant le vote final sur ce projet de loi, accordant ainsi un traitement égal à toutes les compagnies de téléphone.
We are concerned that this bill was tabled without any order being made regarding Quebec Telephone and BC Tel. Madam Speaker, I ask you to remind the government that it would be greatly appreciated if the order was made before the final vote on this bill, so as to give equal treatment to all telephone companies.
