The United Kingdom is taking part in this [INSTRUMENT], in accordance with Article 5(1) of Protocol No 19 on the Schengen acquis integrated into the framework of the European Union, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and Article 8(2) of Council Decision 2000/365/EC of 29 May 2000 concerning the request of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis*.

Ireland is taking part in this [instrument] in accordance with Article 5(1) of Protocol No 19 on the Schengen acquis integrated into the framework of the European Union, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and Article 6(2) of Council Decision 2002/192/EC of 28 February 2002 concerning Ireland's request to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis*.

La présente décision-cadre prévoit l’incrimination des infractions liées aux activités terroristes en vue de contribuer à l’objectif politique plus général que constitue la prévention du terrorisme par la réduction de la diffusion de documents susceptibles d’inciter des personnes à perpétrer des attentats.
This Framework Decision provides for the criminalisation of offences linked to terrorist activities in order to contribute to the more general policy objective of preventing terrorism through reducing the dissemination of those materials which might incite persons to commit terrorist attacks.

Outre les obligations incombant à l'État membre de condamnation concernant la transmission à l'État membre de nationalité des informations relatives aux condamnations prononcées à l'encontre de ses ressortissants, qu'elle reprend et précise, la présente décision-cadre prévoit aussi une obligation pour l'État membre de nationalité de conserver ces informations transmises, afin qu'il soit en mesure d'apporter une réponse complète aux demandes d'informations qui lui seraient adressées par d'autres États membres.
In addition to the obligations of a convicting Member State to transmit information to the Member States of the person’s nationality concerning convictions handed down against their nationals which this Framework Decision incorporates and further defines, an obligation on the Member States of the person’s nationality to store information so transmitted is also introduced, in order to ensure that they are able to reply fully to requests for information from other Member States.

La présente décision-cadre prévoit la possibilité pour les États membres de former d'équipes communes d'enquête afin d'améliorer la coopération policière.
This Framework Decision provided for the possibility for Member States to set up joint investigation teams with a view to improving police cooperation.

En conséquence, la présente décision-cadre a pour objectif la surveillance des déplacements de la personne poursuivie, compte tenu de l’objectif impérieux de protection des citoyens et du risque que fait courir à ceux-ci le régime existant, qui ne prévoit que deux possibilités: la détention provisoire ou l’absence de contrôle des déplacements.
As a consequence, the present Framework Decision has as its objective the monitoring of a defendants’ movements in the light of the overriding objective of protecting the general public and the risk posed to the public by the existing regime, which provides only two alternatives: provisional detention or unsupervised movement.
