La justice dans ce pays dépend de mes étudiants, de nos ventes de pâtisserie, de ce concert et de la bonne volonté de gens qui font ce travail bénévolement parce qu'ils ne veulent pas que nous détruisions un bon système de justice en maintenant des condamnations qui ne devraient pas et ne peuvent résister à l'examen et en permettant à des gens coupables de rester libres parce que nous préférons garder quelqu'un derrière les barreaux plutôt que de reconnaître que l'on a commis une erreur.
The issue of justice in this country is resting on my students, our bake sales, the benefit concert I referred to and the goodwill of people who do this pro bono work out of a concern that we do not defile a fine justice system by maintaining convictions that should not and cannot withstand scrutiny and allowing guilty people to go free because we would rather have a bird in the hand than actually look an error in the face.
