[Text] Question No. 13 Mr. John Williams: With regard to the testimony given by the Clerk of the Privy Council to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Accounts on May 3, 2004 (Meeting No. 39, 37th Parliament, 3rd Session): (a) on how many occasions have deputy ministers approached the current Clerk of the Privy Council with concerns that a minister may have asked the deputy minister or department to carry out an illegal or improper activity; (b) which deputy minister(s) approached the Clerk and which department(s) was/were involved; (c) what were the details of the request which triggered the discussion with the Clerk; and (d) in each case, was the expenditure of public money involved?

2. The competent authorities of the host and home Member States shall exchange information regarding disciplinary action or criminal sanctions taken or any other serious, specific circumstances which are likely to have consequences for the pursuit of activities under this Directive, respecting personal data protection legislation provided for in Directives 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (Directive on privacy and electronic communications) .

Secondly, in its statement of claim under UNCLOS, Ireland has invoked a number of other provisions of Community law as being pertinent to the dispute, including Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment and Council Directive 96/29/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for the protection of the health of workers and the general public against the dangers arising from ionising radiation.
