UN LARGE EVENTAIL DE THEMES DE RECHERCHE D'ici quelques semaines les contrats se rapportant au reste des projets de la premiere tranche du programme BRITE seront egalement envoyes a la signature.
A WIDE RANGE OF RESEARCH TOPICS Over the next few weeks the contracts for the remaining projects in the first tranche of the BRITE programme will be sent for signature.

Au cours de ces journées, qui permettront de faire le point sur le déroulement du programme BRITE, seront présentés les premiers résultats et l'état d'avancement de 25 projets parmi les plus représentatifs du programme communautaire de recherche BRITE dans le domaine de l'application des nouvelles technologies dans l'industrie manufacturière.
This will be the occasion for a presentation of the first results and the state of progress of 25 projects which are the most representative of the Community's BRITE programme, which consists of research into the application of new technologies in manufacturing industry.

La préparation et le suivi d'autres opérations de développement intégré seront proposés ; - les changements en cours de la politique agricole commune feront l'objet d'un rapport de synthèse au premier semestre de 1988 sur l'avenir du monde rural ; - les efforts seront intensifiés en vue de faire participer les partenaires sociaux à la politique économique et sociale (dialogue social) ; - 5 - - un programme d'action prévoyant la réintégration des chômeurs de longue durée sera également présenté; le programme d'action 1988-1992 pour la formation professionnelle des jeunes et leur passage à la vie adulte sera lancé en 1988; un programme d'action sera proposé pour la période 1989-1991 portant sur la formation continue des travailleurs ; - de nouvelles propositions seront présentées en matière de santé et de sécurité sur le lieu de travail, conformément aux dispositions du nouvel article 118 A de l'Acte Unique européen; un système communautaire d'échange rapide d'informations sera proposé en matière de santé, de sécurité et d'hygiène ; - une action sera proposée pour améliorer les conditions des femmes au travail, avec notamment la mise en oeuvre du programme à moyen terme 1986-1990 concernant l'amélioration des conditions sociales des femmes migrantes; le deuxième programme d'intégration des handicapés sera mis en oeuvre ; - la Commission présentera un ensemble de mesures visant à créer un environnement juridique favorable pour les PME (simplification des obligations comptables, fiscales, etc.) et développera activement les initiatives lancées en 1987 (en particulier l'intensification de l'information spécialisée grâce aux Euro Info Center, le développement de l'Europartenariat entre entreprises de différentes régions de la Communauté, ainsi que la création de 120 Centres d'entreprises et d'innovation en 1988) ; - en matière technologique, de nouveaux programmes seront élaborés dans les domaines de la médecine préventive, de l'environnement, de la valorisatio ...
The preparation and monitoring of other integrated development operations will go forward. - With the changes under way in the common agricultural policy the Commission will submit in 1988 a wide ranging report on the future of the countryside. - Efforts to increase the involvement of both sides of industry in economic and social policy will be intensified. - An action programme to provide the reintegration of the long term unemployed will be presented; the 1988-92 action programme for the vocational training of young people and their preparation for adult life will be launched; and a programme for 1989-91 on the continuing in- service training of employees will come forward. - There will be new proposals on health and safety at work, consistently with the new article 118 A of the Single European Act; a Community system for rapid exchange of information on health, safety and hygiene will be proposed. - Action will be proposed to improve the condition of women at work, including the implementation of the 1986-90 programme on improving the social conditions of migrant women; and a second programme on the integration of the handicapped will be put into effect. - The Commission will put forward a whole series of measures to improve the legal environment for small businesses (simplification of accounting requirements, taxation etc) and will actively develop the initiatives started in 1987 (in particular, the expansion of Euro Info Centres, Europartnership between businesses in different regions; and about 120 Business and Innovation Centres will be set up in 1988). - 4 - - In the technology field new programmes will be prepared in the areas of preventive medicine, the environment, the follow-through of R and D results, new transport technologies, new technologies in manufacturing industry (new BRITE programme), new materials, non-nuclear energy, the decommissioning of nuclear facilities, marine science and technology and on agriculture.

- Pour promouvoir l'utilisation de l'espace, l'actuelle action communautaire dans le domaine de la télédétection pourrait être renforcée comme il convient et des propositions à cette fin pourraient être présentées en 1986. - La Commission examine l'état de la question dans le domaine des sciences et technologies de la mer en vue de déterminer les besoins de RD. Dès que les résultats de cet examen seront disponibles, la Commission pourrait proposer de faire un effort particulier pour mettre l'Europe en mesure d'exploiter au mieux ses ressources marines. - L'excellente réponse qui a été donnée à l'appel aux propositions en matière de technologies industrielles (BRITE) conduira à une révision et à un renforcement de ce programme qui sera présenté par la Commission en 1986. - La proposition, déjà annoncée, au début de 1986, d'un nouveau programme d'éducation et de formation appellé DELTA: Developing European Learning through Technological Advance). - Enfin, la réalisation de "l'Europe des chercheurs" sera poursuivie et même accélérée.
