I would like to focus on a very topical problem faced by Greek industry this week.

La recherche thématique, articulée autour de projets, vise quant à elle à résoudre des problèmes, qui sont soumis très souvent par l'industrie, mais parfois aussi par les gouvernements, et qu'il est impossible de solutionner avec les connaissances que nous avons déjà.
Project research is research done to solve problems, very often from industry but sometimes from government, that can't be solved with the knowledge we have today.

3. reconnaît les progrès considérables que les autorités bulgares ont réalisés dans les domaines que l'UE a identifiés comme "très préoccupants", et dont elles ont réduit le nombre de 16 à 6 depuis octobre 2005; se félicite, que le 8 juin, le gouvernement bulgare ait adopté un plan d'action thématique assorti d'échéances précises; engage donc instamment la Bulgarie à fournir, dans les prochains mois, des résultats concrets et visibles qui démontreront sa détermination totale à régler les problèmes préoccupants qui subsistent, en pleine conscience du fait que le processus de réforme est bénéfique en lui-même, non uniquement en tant que condition préalable à l'adhésion à l'UE, mais pour permettre au peuple bulgare de mener une vie meilleure;
3. Recognises the considerable progress that has been achieved by the Bulgarian authorities in addressing the areas identified by the EU as matters of 'serious concern', reducing them from 16 to 6 since October 2005; welcomes the adoption on 8 June by the Bulgarian Government of a thematic Action Plan with specific deadlines; in the coming months therefore urges Bulgaria to produce concrete and visible results that will demonstrate its wholehearted determination to overcome remaining areas of concern in the full knowledge that the reform process is beneficial in its own right, not just as a prerequisite for EU membership but in order to provide a better life for the people of Bulgaria;

Il est certain que dans d'autres contextes, j'ai entendu dire que, vu son système de rapporteurs et d'études thématiques, ainsi que son problème de sous-financement, la Commission ne fonctionne pas très bien.
Certainly in other fora I have heard that the commission does not function well with the rapporteurs and thematic themes for under-funding.
