La Banque a également soutenu des infrastructures économiques, notamment dans le domaine de l’énergie ; à ce titre, elle a accordé au début de l'année un prêt à l’Autorité chypriote de l’électricité pour renforcer et étendre les réseaux de transport et de distribution d'électricité sur tout le territoire chypriote et elle a soutenu le projet Orites, le premier grand projet d'énergie éolienne mis en œuvre à Chypre, ce qui lui a valu de recevoir le titre de "bailleur de fonds de l'année" décerné par Euromoney.
The Bank has also been active in support of economic infrastructure notably in the energy sector including a EUR 200 million loan earlier this year to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus for reinforcing and extending the electricity transmission and distribution networks throughout Cyprus, and the Orites project, the first windpower operator in Cyprus, which led Euromoney to award the “Lender of the Year” title to the EIB.
