(31) Pour les chercheurs, la présente directive devrait améliorer les règles relatives à la possibilité de prolonger la période explicitement définie pendant laquelle l'autorisation accordée par le premier État membre pourrait être valable pour les séjours dans un second État membre sans qu'une nouvelle convention d'accueil soit exigée. Cela nécessiterait toutefois l'approbation du second État membre, à condition que cette prolongation ait été prévue dans le contrat de travail d'origine comme faisant partie des besoins spécifiques du programme de recherche suivi.
(31) For researchers, this Directive should improve the rules on the possibility of extending the explicitly defined period for which the authorisation granted by the first Member State could cover stays in a second Member State without requiring a new hosting agreement; this would however require the consent of the second Member State, provided that such an extension was included in the original employment contract as part of the specific needs of the research programme followed.

Deux amendements importants concernaient la possibilité accordée explicitement aux producteurs de faire valoir une « contribution visible » pour montrer qu'ils ont contribué à financer la collecte de déchets anciens provenant de produits mis sur le marché avant l'entrée en vigueur de la directive.
