Relevons parmi tant d’autres problèmes qu’il s’agit pour le moins d’une distorsion de l’histoire que d’affirmer, comme le fait cette résolution, que l’«intégration européenne» a permis au Portugal de se libérer du fascisme, alors que le Portugal était membre de l’OTAN depuis le début, que le régime fasciste profitait de la connivence des gouvernements de nombreux pays participant à ladite «intégration européenne» et que ces pays ont soutenu l’effort de guerre colonial entrepris par le régime fasciste portugais.
Among many other serious problems, it is at the very least a distortion of history to say, as the resolution does, that ‘European integration’ helped to get rid of fascism in Portugal, when Portugal was a Member of NATO from the outset; when the fascist regime benefited from the connivance of the governments of many countries taking part in the so-called ‘European integration’; and when those countries supported the colonial war effort undertaken by the Portuguese fascist regime.
