In the debate the UK Tories delegation has firmly expressed its disagreement with an EU FTT, given the absence of a worldwide solution, and warned the assembly about possible migration of transactions outside the EU. In the end, with a vast majority, the plenary vote made clear the full support of European regional and local authorities, just a few days after nine EU member states addressed a letter to the Danish Council Presidency urging acceleration of the introduction of the FTT.
