(8) Despite subsections (1) to (7), if a person has served a notice of objection under section 81.15 or has appealed to the Tribunal or the Federal Court under this Part, otherwise than under section 81.33, in respect of an assessment and agrees in writing with the Minister to delay proceedings on the objection or appeal until a decision or judgment is rendered in another action before the Tribunal, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court of Canada in which the issue is the same or substantially the same as that raised in the objection or appeal of that person, the Minister may take any of the actions described in paragraphs (4)(a) to (c) for the purpose of collecting any sum for which that person has been assessed, determined in a manner consistent with the decision or judgment of the Tribunal or Court in the other action, at any time after the Minister notifies the person in writing that the decision or judgment has been rendered.

(7) Despite any other provision in this section, if a person has served a notice of objection under this Act to an assessment or has appealed to the Tax Court from an assessment and agrees in writing with the Minister to delay proceedings on the objection or appeal, as the case may be, until judgment has been given in another action before the Tax Court, the Federal Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court of Canada in which the issue is the same or substantially the same as that raised in the objection or appeal of the person, the Minister may take any of the actions described in subsection (1) for the purpose of collecting the amount assessed, or a part of it, determined in a manner consistent with the judgment of the Court in the other action at any time after the Minister notifies the person in writing that the judgment has been given by the Court in the other action.

3. 3. Within two months after the receipt of an admissible reasoned statement of opposition, the Commission shall invite the authority or person that lodged the opposition and the authority or body that lodged the application to engage in appropriate consultations for a reasonable period that shall not exceed three months.

3. As part of the scrutiny referred to in the second subparagraph of paragraph 2 of this Article, the Member State shall initiate a national opposition procedure that ensures adequate publication of the application and that provides for a reasonable period within which any natural or legal person having a legitimate interest and established or resident on its territory may lodge an opposition to the application.

2 (1) In this Act " Leader of the Opposition'' means, in relation to either House of Parliament, that a Member of that House who is for the time being the Leader of that House of the party in opposition to Her Majesty's Government having the greatest numerical strength in the House of Commons; and " Chief Opposition Whip'' means, in relation to either House of Parliament, the person for the time being nominated as such by the Leader of the Opposition in that House; and " Assistant Opposition Whip'', in relation to the House of Commons, means a person for the time being nominated as such, and to be paid as such, by the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons.
