1. Les autorités ou institutions compétentes veillent à ce que soient mises à la disposition des personnes assurées toutes les informations nécessaires concernant les procédures et les conditions d’octroi des prestations en nature lorsque ces prestations sont perçues sur le territoire d’un État membre autre que celui de l’institution compétente.

The competent authorities or institutions shall ensure that any necessary information is made available to insured persons regarding the procedures and conditions for the granting of benefits in kind where such benefits are received in the territory of a Member State other than that of the competent institution.

4. Si la personne assurée a effectivement supporté les coûts de tout ou partie des prestations en nature servies dans le cadre de l’article 19 du règlement de base et si la législation appliquée par l’institution du lieu de séjour permet le remboursement de ces frais à une personne assurée, elle peut adresser une demande de remboursement à l’institution du lieu de séjour.
4. If the insured person has actually borne the costs of all or part of the benefits in kind provided within the framework of Article 19 of the basic Regulation and if the legislation applied by the institution of the place of stay enables reimbursement of those costs to an insured person, he may send an application for reimbursement to the institution of the place of stay.

7. If the insured person has actually borne all or part of the costs for the authorised medical treatment him or herself and the costs which the competent institution is obliged to reimburse to the institution of the place of stay or to the insured person according to paragraph 6 (actual cost) are lower than the costs which it would have had to assume for the same treatment in the competent Member State (notional cost), the competent institution shall reimburse, upon request, the cost of treatment incurred by the insured person up to the amount by which the notional cost exceeds the actual cost.

As Article 22a applies to persons who are nationals of a Member State and insured under the legislation of a Member State and to the members of their families residing with them, the words "insured under the legislation of a Member State" shall be understood as including any person who is a national of a Member State and entitled to sickness benefits in kind under the legislation of a Member State either by virtue of insurance on a voluntary, compulsory or an optional continued basis on other grounds than as an employed or self-employed person for one or more of the contingencies covered by the branches of social security dealt with in (EEC) No Regulation 1408/71.
