Permettrez-moi d'abord de rendre deux hommages : le premier à la présidente du Comité des affaires juridiques et constitutionnelles, madame le sénateur Fraser, pour tout le travail qu'elle a accompli, dans l'espoir que le Sénat puisse jouer pleinement son rôle de législateur pour proposer des modifications et retourner un projet de loi modifié et grandement amélioré — et Dieu sait qu'il avait besoin d'améliorations — à l'autre endroit.
I would like to start with two tributes. First, to the Chair of the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Senator Fraser, for all the work she has done so that the Senate can fully play its role as legislator, proposing amendments and returning an amended and greatly improved bill — and God knows it needed improvement — to the other House.
