The Candidate Countries Turkey, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, Montenegro*, Serbia* and Albania*, the country of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidate Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, align themselves with this declaration.* The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Albania continue to be part of the Stabilisation and Association Process.

La Commission veille à associer, à l’Année européenne du dialogue interculturel, les pays adhérents et candidats bénéficiant d'une stratégie de préadhésion, notamment les pays candidats aux accords d'association avec l'UE, les pays relevant du programme MEDA et les pays partenaires d'EUROMED en s’appuyant sur leur participation à de nombreux programmes communautaires comprenant une dimension de dialogue interculturel et en développant des initiatives spécifiques dans les cadres appropriés, en particulier dans le cadre du dialogue entre les sociétés civiles de l’Union européenne et celles des pays candidats.
2. The Commission shall take care to involve the accession and candidate countries benefiting from a pre-accession strategy including the candidate countries for association agreements with the EU, the countries in MEDA and the partner countries in EUROMED in the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, on the basis of their participation in a number of Community programmes including an intercultural dialogue dimension and by developing specific initiatives in appropriate frameworks, particularly in the context of civil society dialogue between the European Union and the candidate countries.
