Le Parquet européen sera compétent pour poursuivre les infractions pénales portant atteinte au budget de l'Union, telles que définies dans la directive relative à la lutte contre la fraude portant atteinte aux intérêts financiers de l'Union au moyen du droit pénal («directive PIF»), qui sera adoptée sous peu.
The EPPO will be competent for offences affecting the Union budget, as defined in the Directive on the fight against fraud to the Union's financial interests by means of criminal law (PIF Directive), which will be adopted shortly.

Le Parquet européen sera un corps de magistrats indépendant et décentralisé de l'Union européenne doté d'une compétence pour rechercher, poursuivre et renvoyer devant la justice les auteurs d'infractions portant atteinte au budget de l'UE, telles que la fraude, la corruption ou la fraude transfrontière à la TVA excédant 10 millions d'euros.
The European Public Prosecutor's Office will be an independent and decentralised prosecution office of the European Union with competence for investigating, prosecuting and bringing to justice crimes against the EU budget, such as fraud, corruption or cross-border VAT fraud above 10 million euros.

Pour répondre à ce besoin, il convient de faciliter le recrutement par le Parquet européen d’agents temporaires ou contractuels qui travaillent déjà au sein des institutions, organes ou organismes de l’Union, en garantissant à ces agents le maintien de leurs droits contractuels s’ils sont recrutés par le Parquet européen au cours de sa phase de mise en place jusqu’à un an après que le Parquet européen sera devenu opérationnel conformément à la décision mentionnée à l’article 120, paragraphe 2.
With a view to meeting that need, the recruitment by the EPPO of temporary and contract agents already working in the institutions, bodies, offices or agencies of the Union should be facilitated by guaranteeing those staff members continuity of their contractual rights if they are recruited by the EPPO in its set-up phase until 1 year after the EPPO becomes operational in accordance with the decision in Article 120(2).
