Concernant la mise en œuvre et le suivi, il est très important pour moi que non seulement la Commission mais également les parlements nationaux portent une grande responsabilité en la matière, puisqu’il va sans dire que ces expulsions doivent également être mises en œuvre efficacement.
As regards implementation and follow-up, I consider it very important that not only the Commission but also national parliaments bear a major responsibility for this, as it goes without saying that these expulsions must also be implemented effectively.

Les autres changements portent sur le respect de la Charte des droits fondamentaux de l’Union européenne et du principe de subsidiarité, compte tenu de l’influence croissante des parlements nationaux; le droit du Parlement de proposer des modifications aux Traités; la procédure de nomination du président de la Commission, étant donné que le Parlement dispose de plus de pouvoirs en la matière; la possibilité de retrait d’un État de l’Union et, enfin, la violation des principes fondamentaux par un État membre.
The other changes are about respect for the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the principle of subsidiarity, taking into account the growing influence of the national parliaments; the right of Parliament to propose modifications to the treaties; the procedure for nominating the President of the Commission, given that Parliament has more powers in this matter; the possibility of a Member State of the Union withdrawing and, finally, the violation of the basic principles by a Member State.

Les accords présentent un caractère mixte, car ils portent à la fois sur les compétences de la Communauté européenne et sur celles des États membres, et plus précisément, dans ce dernier cas, sur les deuxième et troisième piliers de l’Union européenne. C’est pourquoi ils sont l’objet, une fois signés, d’un très long processus de ratification par les parlements nationaux des États membres de l’Union européenne.
As the Agreements are of a "mixed" type (drawing on both European Community and Member States' competences - the latter concerning the second and third EU pillar), after signature they have to undergo a lengthy ratification process by the national parliaments of the EU Member States.
