The Commission will meet the organisers within one month from the submission of the initiative, and the public hearing at the European Parliament will be organised within three months and will allow for a balanced representation of all stakeholders and of other EU institutions and advisory bodies.

Welcomes the fact that the European Council has adopted the three basic framework principles of the European Parliament for securing the long-term sustainability of pension systems: safeguarding the capacity of systems to meet their social objectives, maintaining their financial sustainability and meeting the changing needs of society; expects that the European Parliament will be involved in the process and points out that creating more and better jobs will reinforce the sustainability of social protection systems;
