- (PT) Monsieur le Président, je suis de ceux qui adhèrent intellectuellement à l’exercice de systématisation et de simplification, si bien mené par M. Jean-Louis Bourlanges qui tient compte de la longue production théorique que notre Parlement approfondit depuis Maastricht, parce que cela constitue un acquis parlementaire qui doit être coulé dans le texte de la Convention et, finalement, parce que de ce travail découle la clarté des instruments et l’efficacité des moyens de décision indispensables au fonctionnement normal de la future Union.
– (PT) Mr President, I am in favour, intellectually, of the process of streamlining and simplifying, so well argued by Jean-Louis Bourlanges. I am in favour because he takes account of the long theoretical work that this Parliament has been developing since Maastricht, because this is a parliamentary acquis that must be included in the text of the Convention and lastly, because this work has resulted in clear instruments and effective decision-making procedures, which are crucial to the smooth functioning of the future Union.
