Dans le cadre des questions que vous traitez, Monsieur le Commissaire, nous soulignons la nécessité, justement pour ces raisons de politique extérieure et de rôle de l’Union européenne, d’insister sur une conclusion des négociations Syrie/UE afin de compléter le réseau d’accords d’association euroméditerranéens, étant donné que nous devons procéder au plus vite à la sélection des projets de planification des programmes financiers actuellement en suspens entre Israël et la Palestine. Cela pourrait jouer un rôle très important dans cette région de la Méditerranéenne.
In the context of the situations on which you, Commissioner, are focusing, we would point out the need, with a view precisely to foreign policy and the role of the European Union, to insist on the conclusion of the Syria/EU negotiations in order to complete the network of Euro-Mediterranean association agreements, just as we must proceed as soon as possible with the selection of the funding programme planning projects which is at present suspended in Israel and Palestine, for they could play a very important role in this part of the Mediterranean region.
