C'est en établissant que le Canada est capable d'imposer des contraintes que nous serons les plus utiles; nous espérons que le Pakistan comprendra cela et qu'il se sera incité à saisir la balle au vol. Voilà pourquoi il est tout à fait approprié que le premier ministre ait indiqué notre intention de mettre à la disposition du Pakistan l'argent de l'aide au développement que nous destinions à l'Inde, et nous ne sommes d'ailleurs pas le seul pays à le faire.
Where we can provide more support is to demonstrate that we're a country that will show restraint, and we certainly hope Pakistan will be amongst that number and that they receive the proper incentives to do so. That's why it's an appropriate gesture that the Prime Minister indicated that the direct development money we would not be giving to India any more would be available to Pakistan as an alternative, and other countries are doing the same.
