(16) In order to avoid undue burden for the parties concerned, ships engaged in scheduled traffic with frequent and regular port calls may be exempted from certain obligations deriving from this Directive where there is sufficient evidence that there are arrangements to ensure the delivery of the waste and the payment of fees.

Pour éviter d'imposer aux parties concernées des charges indues, les navires effectuant des transports maritimes réguliers assortis d'escales fréquentes et régulières peuvent être exemptés de certaines obligations prévues par la présente directive si des preuves suffisantes attestent l'existence d'un arrangement en vue d'assurer le dépôt des déchets d'exploitation et le paiement des redevances y afférentes.
