To this end, the pilot project contains four interlinking "action fields", namely: - an advisory and technical assistance service for border areas of the Community, in particular for the preparation and implementation of plans to be submitted in the framework of the INTERREG initiative for border regions; in 1990, the main focus will be on Objective 1 border areas (Portugal/Spain; Ireland/Northern Ireland; Corsica/Sardinia; Greek external borders); - the establishment of a data base on cooperation projects, cross-border institutional and organisational structures, and on obstacles to cross-border trade and social interchange; - the promotion of networking within and between border regions; - information and publicity.
