Notre Union n’existera toutefois véritablement que lorsque nous aurons créé, en parallèle au marché intérieur et de la coopération économique, un espace commun de liberté, de sécurité et de justice, lorsque les citoyens européens se sentiront également libres et que leurs droits fondamentaux seront protégés, et lorsqu’il y aura une justice équivalente pour tous.
Our Union will only truly exist, however, when we establish, alongside the internal market and economic cooperation, a common area of freedom, security and justice; when European citizens also feel free, with their fundamental rights safeguarded, and when there is equal justice for all.
