Taking into consideration the beneficial impact which the refinery will have on the development of the region, further the growing demand for fuel and distillates in the new Länder, and especially the fact that the aids including the newly notified aid of DM 40 million for environmental protection purposes will even sligthly lower the aid intensity (32 %) to well below the limit of 35% for cumulated regional and other aids to new constructions in an disadvantaged region, the Commission considers also the increased investment aid to the new refinery compatible with the Common Market.
