La lutte contre toute forme de discrimination s'est trouvée fortement renforcée dans le Traité d'Amsterdam (article 13) et l'Union européenne s'est dotée de nouveaux instruments dans ce domaine (deux directives et un programme d'action) [17].
Article 13 of the Treaty of Amsterdam greatly strengthened efforts to combat any form of discrimination, and the European Union has acquired new resources in this field (in the form of two directives and an action programme) [17].

Les nouveaux articles 58.1 et 60.1 portent sur la gouvernance des Cris de Oujé-Bougoumou durant la période de transition au régime de la LCNQ; le conseil d’administration actuel de l’Association devient le conseil de la Bande jusqu’à la fin de son mandat, et les règlements administratifs restent en vigueur pendant un an (art. 7 et 8 du projet de loi).
Similarly, new section 13.1 terminates the Oujé-Bougoumou Eenuch Association (Association) – the existing federally incorporated entity with governance authority – and vests its existing assets and liabilities, as well as those of the collectivity of Oujé-Bougoumou Crees, in the new incorporated Oujé-Bougoumou Band (clause 4) (39) New sections 58.1 and 60.1 are concerned with continuity of governance for the Oujé-Bougoumou Crees during the transition to the CNQA regime; the Association’s existing Board of Directors becomes the council of the new Band for the reminder of their term in office, and its existing by-laws remain in force for a year (clauses 7–8).
