Face à cette situation, j’ai perçu, dans ce Parlement, un sentiment de responsabilité pour envoyer un message fort aux autres institutions, à la Commission et au Conseil, pour dire que nous devons nous remobiliser autour de la valeur ajoutée du projet européen, et que cela tient en quelques mots: nous avons une responsabilité collective et nous avons, à l’échelle de l’Union européenne, à mettre en œuvre une stratégie qui nous permette, dans le domaine de l’énergie, d’être forts à l’intérieur pour être forts à l’extérieur. Nous devons compter sur nos propres forces et pour cela, nous avons besoin du niveau européen.
Faced with this situation, I have sensed the feeling, in this House, that it is our duty to send a strong message to the other institutions, to the Commission and the Council, to say that we must join forces again around the added value of the European project, and that the issue at stake can be summarised in a few words: we have a collective responsibility and we need to implement an EU-wide strategy that will enable us, in the area of energy, to be strong on the inside and thus, strong on the outside. We must count on our own strength and, to do so, we need the European level.
