L'affaire en question fait suite à la notification par Telefónica et Sogecable, qui appartient à la société française Canal+ et au groupe de communication espagnol Prisa, d'un accord par lequel ces sociétés s'engagent à acquérir et à exploiter en commun les droits de retransmission de rencontres de football de la première ligue espagnole pour 11 saisons expirant en 2009, par l'intermédiaire de leur entreprise commune Audiovisual Sport.
The case relates to the notification by Telefónica and Sogecable, which is owned by Canal+ of France and the Spanish media group Prisa, of an agreement whereby they commit to jointly acquire and exploit the broadcasting rights to Spanish First League football matches for 11 seasons ending in 2009 through their joint venture Audiovisual Sport.
