Sans doute convient-il d'adopter les excellents amendements palliatifs de Jové Peres, qui a fourni un travail remarquable, et de la commission de l’agriculture, sans le prétexte de la neutralité budgétaire, parce que quand on jette l'argent dans le Kosovo, aux Balkans, en Indonésie, en Asie, des sous il y en a. Mais, mes chers collègues, si nous ne mettons pas fin à la dérive planétaire de la construction européenne, alors peu à peu non seulement les paysans disparaîtront, mais c'est l'ensemble de l'Europe elle-même qui se dissoudra dans l'océan du marché mondial.
Obviously we must adopt the excellent relief amendments put forward by Mr Jové Peres, who has produced an outstanding report, and those of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, without the pretext of budgetary neutrality. There is no lack of money to throw at Kosovo, at the Balkans, at Indonesia and at Asia. But if we do not put an end to the global drift in European integration, little by little not only will the farmers disappear, but the whole of Europe will drown in the ocean of the global market.
